The ASSOS skinFoil_evo7 series, released in early 2015, marked a complete renewal of the brand’s base-layer concept. It replaced the previous “interactiveBodyInsulator” range and introduced a unified family of garments engineered for all climaRanges, from midsummer to deep winter. Every skinFoil_evo7 garment was designed to act as the foundation of the ASSOS Layering System (ALS), directly against the skin.

Concept and development[]

According to the 2015 ASSOS product descriptions (archived via the Wayback Machine), the skinFoil_evo7 line was developed to provide total body-temperature control and moisture management across the entire year. All versions shared the same tubular seamless construction and moisture-reactive fibers, differing only in thickness and sleeve length according to their climaRange. Each model was numbered by temperature zone (1.4 – 4.4) and identified by sleeve configuration.

> “The next generation of ASSOS base layers. Seamless, body-mapped, and made of an innovative blend of polypropylene fibers that react to perspiration to maintain your body’s micro-climate in all conditions.” > — Assos.com, February 2015 (archived)

Construction and technology[]

  • Seamless tubular knit for maximum elasticity and minimal seams
  • Body-mapped compression zones for moisture transport and temperature regulation
  • Polypropylene/nylon fiber blend engineered for rapid drying
  • Antibacterial treatment to prevent odor buildup
  • Open-mesh or denser weaves depending on the climaRange
  • Anatomically pre-shaped pattern for the riding position

All garments carried climaRange identifiers on the chest (e.g. 1.4, 2.4, 3.4, 4.4) for quick selection according to temperature.

Available models[]

NS.skinFoilSummer_evo7 (1.4 Summer)[]

  • Product ID 537
  • Color : White / Natural
  • Sizes : 0, I, II, III

LS.skinFoilEarlyWinter_evo7 (3.4 Early Winter)[]

Mid-weight long-sleeve base layer for early-winter conditions (approx. 6–14 °C). Features denser knit zones on the chest and arms to provide insulation and moisture transfer during cold-weather efforts.

  • Product ID 538
  • Color : White / Natural
  • Sizes : 0, I, II, III

LS.skinFoilWinter_evo7 (4.4 Winter)[]

The warmest skinFoil version for deep-winter use below 6 °C. Combines the thickest polypropylene structure with an internal brushed texture to trap warm air while keeping the skin dry.

  • Product ID 539
  • Color : White / Natural
  • Sizes : 0, I, II, III

Shared features[]

  • Seamless tubular knitting eliminates chafing points.
  • Varying density zones accelerate moisture evaporation.
  • Ergonomic collar height optimized per climaRange.
  • Rapid-dry polypropylene fibers maintain stable micro-climate.
  • Each base layer is labeled with climaRange and evo7 identification.

Position within the ASSOS lineup[]

The skinFoil_evo7 family replaced the older interactiveBodyInsulator range and set the foundation for the later skinLayer generation (introduced 2020). Its introduction aligned the base-layer design with the new S7 outerwear collection, creating a unified ALS ecosystem from next-to-skin to outer shell.

Sizes[]

All models were available in sizes 0 / I / II / III.
